Chiefs receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and Eagles wideout AJ Brown were going at it on Twitter, so Patrick Mahomes had to weigh in and did so hilariously.

Though it all started with Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster sending out a Valentine’s Day message, love was definitely not in the air between him and Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown.

Of course, Smith-Schuster definitely stoked any fire that was there with his initial tweet on Tuesday as he trolled Eagles cornerback James Bradberry for the holding call late in Super Bowl 57 that ultimately turned out to be a decisive penalty. He posted an image that referenced the flag in a highly tongue-in-cheek manner.

That rubbed Brown the wrong way, though, as the Eagles star replied with a spicy clap-back at Smith-Schuster that referred to him as “Tik Tok Boy” and said that Patrick Mahomes saved his career because he was on his way out of the league otherwise.

Finally, though, the voice of reason weighed in with Mahomes himself providing commentary. And really, his six-word tweet pretty much summed up the entire situation: “That man must just be bored.”

In fairness, Mahomes could be referring to either JuJu or Brown with that sentiment, because it’s apt for both parties. We have to assume, however, that he was talking about the wideout for the team he just won a Super Bowl against and not his teammate.

Nothing says the start of the NFL offseason, though, like two rival wide receivers immediately starting a war on social media with one another because of a joke that was made with a bit of bad taste and the other party getting way too worked up over it.

Thankfully, we have Mahomes here to let us know the true reason behind all of this (and perhaps with any more offseason drama to come. They must just be bored.
